All Cottages are $265 weekday/$315 weekend. Weekly is $1750. 2-DAY MINIMUM.
Single-night rentals may be available in select cottages; those reservations must be made 2 days ahead. Please must contact Bill directly for 1-night reservations- (single-day stays cannot be booked on our website)
SummerHouse is a private oasis of 10 cottages blending modern design with vintage details. No car needed! From NYC/Wall Street, take Seastreak Ferry, a 40 minute luxury ferry ride to Highlands. Our private compound has grilling areas, firepit, and bike & surfboard storage. Walk or bike to a wide variety of guarded, natural bay and ocean beaches and trails. A few steps to great dining and nightlife. The Main House Common Area has fresh locally roasted coffee beans, a grinder, milk foamer, teas, dairy, and french press. Every room has a french press and instant kettle.
ALL cottages have modern, open showers in each bathroom, a kitchenette, shaded porches, AC/Wifi/SmartTV, comfy new beds and fresh linens and big beach towels.
Cottages A through E offer an additional, private outdoor hot & cold shower; Cottage F, G and H offer an additional twin bed/day bed. Cottages I & J are dog friendly (no barkers, please), with a private, pet-relief area so you can enjoy the beach while your pup enjoys a shaded area to hang out at your cottage. Our Main House Upper Floor Suite is a 2 bedroom 1 bath private space- the entire upper floor is yours.

Ten, private cottages surrounding a tranquil courtyard. Stylish design elements balanced with vintage architecture. Thoughtful amenities in a relaxing, one of a kind setting. Originally built in the 1920's, the compound was carefully and lovingly restored and reopened in 2017.
The 2026 return of the original designer/manager will emphasize a refreshed- and upgraded- guest experience! Locally roasted fresh coffee , refurbished Main House common areas, new luxury linens, and restyled outdoor areas are already in progress!
Our lushly landscaped courtyard is a tranquil setting for grilling, sunning, or just relaxing around an open fire after an exhilarating day exploring the area. Easy access to Sandy Hook's famous miles of beaches by foot (10-15 minute walk over the bridge), bike, car or Lyft/Uber; walk 5 minutes to a nearby bayfront beach with lifeguard. Mountain Biker/Hiker? Try nearby Hartshorne Park- it offers 850 acres of mountaintop trails overlooking the ocean, the junction of two rivers and the NYC skyline, and is a short hike from your door. The Henry Hudson Bayside Trail offers a level, easy hike or bike trail along a converted railway bed at the edge of Sandy Hook Bay. Start at Popomora cove's calm, crescent beach and continue along the base of wooded hills, surrounded by nature and one of kind views.
SummerHouse is a fast, 40 minute ferry ride from NYC on Seastreak Ferry, or an easy trip by train to Red Bank or bus to Highlands. Our oasis is 5 minutes from Sandy Hook beaches, superior kite boarding, and hiking and mountain bike trails. You do not need a car to get here and rental Ebikes, and walking trails, are right here.
Consider renting the entire compound for your group or family event, or, rent select cottages for a week a month or a season. Perfect for outside yoga classes, wedding party dinners or breakfasts, group retreats.
Our town offers many great dining choices from fine French cafe fare to local seafood and everything in between. In-town nightlife is steps away. The major entertainment and fine dining attractions of nearby Asbury Park, Red Bank and Long Branch are within 15 to 30 minutes by car service.
Set up your bike/E-bike rental through Kranky’s Cycles at www.krankycycles.com. Pick up your bike on the way from the Ferry to our cottages.
Amenities
All cottages accommodate two guests and feature queen beds including bed and bath linens, soap & shampoo, open floor showers, microwaves, mini fridges, A/C, heat, smartTV & Fios WiFi. In addition, all cottages have use of our grill, fire pit and courtyard areas. All have private front porches.
Select cottages offer an extra twin bed and some offer an additional, private outdoor shower. Two cottages are dog-friendly with safe, outdoor dog areas.
